Flavio's semi bad analogy

"Briatore was quick to respond to criticism that this time last year he had tipped Heikki Kovalainen as being the future, only to subsequently offload the Finn in favour of Piquet, some believe because he feared Kovalainen would present Alonso with too great a challenge.

"The future has changed," he retorted. "Sometimes you have a girlfriend you believe is your future, then you meet a better one and the future has suddenly changed Maybe Heikki will come back to us one day; people love Renault so much they all want to come back!"

While I love Flavio Briatore and his quote about people loving Renault so much they want to come back (he must have been looking in Alonso's direction when he said that) I can't help but laugh about the future/girlfriend analogy. While normally this would be a spot on comparison... a sound analogy... this is coming from a man who knocked up Heidi Klum and then dumped her pregnant ass. What future of ass is better than Miss Project Runway?!

Flav is quite a cocksman and has speared many a fine woman in his career (Naomi Campbell, Adriana Volpe, and Heidi Klum) but shit dude, you don't abandon a preggers Heidi Klum and then four years later make the future/girlfriend analogy. You just don't.

I'll give you some tips for for the future Flav; Trim the shrubbery. It's lowering property value in the surrounding area!

Bernard and I think alike, apparently...

LONDON (AFP) - Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone believes the racist abuse suffered by Lewis Hamilton in Barcelona is just "an isolated incident" and claimed that the FIA's anti-racism campaign was "not necessary".

"All it does is give attention to people who want attention," F1 boss Ecclestone told the BBC.

Ecclestone described the abuse, in which Hamilton was taunted at a test session at the Circuit de Catalunya by spectators with blacked-up faces and wearing wigs last month, as "a one-off".

As my last blog entry below shows, I expressed the same sentiment three days ago as Mr. E recently has.

I must say, the next 24 days can't go by quick enough. That first Friday practice will be my personal highlight of 2008 up to that point, with Saturday and Sunday replacing the previous day as said high point. I've taken off work so I can bask in the first shots of F1 of 2008. I miss Friday/Saturday excitement. For the last five years of Schumacher's career I used to watch every Friday practice, Saturday quali, and Sunday race live, and record it. This involved getting up either in the middle of the night or staying up real late, depending on where the circus was. I always hated North and South American races because they came on in the middle of the day and I was so used to getting up at 730am to watch my F1. This past year I almost never watched or recorded Friday practice. Same went with quali, though some times I would record it. After the third or forth race I stopped getting up for the races and would just set the VCR. the only thing that sucked about that is that since I wasn't watching it, I couldn't pause for commercials. I don't really feel like my enthusiasm for the sport is fading, I just miss Schumacher (and I work weekends now so I try to sleep as late as possible) though I think this year I am going to attempt to wake up for practice/quali/race... We'll see how that goes.

What's to blame?

So I read Ron Dennis and his wife are getting divorced. I bet Anthony Hamilton shacks up with her. I always see those two in the garage together looking awfully close.

I didn't really address the racism issue that popped up in recently in Spanish testing concerning Lewis Hamilton. Whilst I didn't read every single story on the matter the early ones I did read seemed to me that the issue was being blown slightly out of proportion and that such behaviors shouldn't have even been reported on by the media because no matter where you are in the world, there are going to be some ignorant assholes and there's nothing you can really do about those very few rotten apples. It's not like they were threatening his life. They put on some black face and held up a sign. I watched The Jazzsinger last night and saw fucking Neil Diamond in black face and a fake afro. The point is is that sometimes people don black face and while it shouldn't be socially acceptable, the FIA shouldn't shit in their pants over it. I'm sure the Hamilton family didn't lose any sleep over it.

What is really racist is the name of the first black man to drive an F1 car back in 1986. His name was Willy T. Ribbs. I mean. Come on.
